Bima Arya, the mayor of Bogor positively infected with the COVID-19 virus

     

       Dr. Bima Arya Sugiarto, S.Hum., M.A. is an Indonesian politician. He was born in Bogor, West Java on December 17, 1972. The father of two children was the second mayor of Bogor who served since 20 April 2019. Previously he served as Mayor of Bogor from 7 April 2014 to 7 April 2019. He was the first child of three siblings. He is the son of Toni Sugiarto, a police officer.

Bima completed his education at Bogor Police Public Elementary School 3, Bogor 1 Public junior High School, and Bogor 1 Public senior High School. Furthermore, Bima continued his studies at Parahyangan University with a bachelor's degree in international relations. Besides being activist in political parties, Bima was also known as an academica. The experiences of the organization and its leadership led him to be frequently asked to be a consultant in various international institutions. He was also often called as a speaker at various forums on issues of nationalism, youth, and leadership.

       Not long ago, the COVID-19 Virus became a hot topic in the world, including Indonesia. However, as Mayor of Bogor, of course there are various responsibilities that he must live even in the precarious conditions like today. Long story short, Bima Arya was tested positive for Corona virus after returning from a working visit in Azerbaijan. Bima positive certainty exposed to the corona virus after being contacted by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil related test results that he had lived two days ago at the Bogor Senior Hospital, Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

Before he tested positive for corona virus, Bima Arya was included in the monitoring category (ODP). Because he had just returned from Azerbaijan, one of the countries on the list was struck by the Covid-19 epidemic. During the ODP period, Bima had an office in his private home. A number of work equipment was moved from the Mayor's Office to his residence in Baranangsiang Indah Housing. Bima admitted that after his trip from Azerbaijan, he did not feel any significant symptoms of corona virus infection. According to him, he only experienced symptoms of a small cough. That way, he said he would follow health protocols and procedures to undergo self-isolation. Bima also claimed to entrust entirely to Bogor City Hospital to deal with the disease.

       Optimistic, That's what the Mayor of Bogor is doing, after he was infected with positive Covid-19. For now, Bima fully entrusts the matter of leadership of the city of Bogor to the deputy mayor of Bogor. He told Bogor citizens that Covid-19 could attack anyone. He also appealed to the people of Bogor do not to underestimate this and follow instructions from the government by staying at home and always washing their hands.
